Transportation
The Archer Woods apartment complex rests on the southeastern corner of the University of Florida’s Gainesville campus. This area is just south of the Natural Area Teaching Laboratory and allows you to walk to all areas of campus in less than an hour. You can reduce that commute time further by riding a bicycle. To reach campus, simply head north or east on any road. You can consider yourself on the edge of campus the moment you step out of your door.
Some attractions on this corner of the campus include the Harn Museum of Art, the Florida Museum of Natural History, the Southwest Recreation Center, the campus softball fields and Maguire Hall. These apartments also place you a short walk from many of the recreational areas and green spaces on campus, including Lake Alice, the Mark Bostick Golf Course and Wilmont Gardens.
You don’t need a personal vehicle to reach the UF campus, and there are many restaurants and shopping centers located within walking or biking distance of the apartment complex. That makes this community perfect for students, faculty and staff members who want to live without the expense of a car. If you need to commute to areas of Gainesville beyond the university, you have the option of using your own car or relying on the public busing system.
There are bus stops along Archer Road and SW 34th Street, allowing you to catch more than five different bus routes within a short walk of the apartment complex. These routes will take you to most areas of Gainesville, allowing you to easily commute for work or pleasure. The closest bus stop is across Archer Road in front of the Tuscan Bend Apartment complex, and that stop connects with routes 1, 12, 38 and Later Gator F.
