Transportation
The Regency Oaks Apartments are located on the southwestern corner of the University of Florida’s Gainesville campus. The complex is next to the Natural Area Teaching Laboratory, and the center of campus is about two miles away. You can bike your way to the center of campus in about 10 minutes from this location, and that trip would take you up to 45 minutes on foot. You will need extra time to reach campus facilities located further north or east.
If you prefer to drive to campus, you can reach the Reitz Student Union area in approximately 15 minutes. This region is home to the university bookstore and Welcome Center as well as some of the most relaxing recreational areas for students. You can also reach multiple parking lots in all areas of campus within 10-15 minutes.
You can also take advantage of the bus stops located along Archer Road and SW 34th Street. To reach the center of campus near the Reitz Student Union, walk a few minutes to the bus stop in front of the Tuscan Bend Apartments on Archer Road. Take the route 12 bus headed directly to Reitz Union. Another option is to walk about 15 minutes to the Florida Department of Agriculture on SW 34th Street. Board a route 20 bus headed to Reitz Union. Both of these routes will take you to the center of campus in about 30 minutes without delays.
You can use the bus stops along Archer Road and 34th Street to reach most parks, restaurants, shopping centers and entertainment venues throughout Gainesville. Some of the campus bus stops will connect you with even more routes headed in all directions away from campus.

Many residents are attracted to Regency Oaks because of its close proximity to the University of Florida, but there are other benefits to living in this central location. The complex is positioned near the intersection of Archer Road and SW 34th Street, and both of these roads are lined with restaurants, retail stores and entertainment venues.
The AMF movie theater is within walking distance along with a hookah club and many bars, coffee shops and small restaurants. You can also catch a bus or head down Archer Road on your bike to reach The Oaks Mall and an even larger assortment of retail stores and restaurants. From Italian and Mexican to American comfort foods, you can enjoy any type of cuisine in this area of Gainesville.
