Located behind the University of Florida’s Energy Research and Education facilities, Oxford Manor provides quick access to the university campus. If you want to avoid the hassle and expense of on-campus parking, biking to this area of campus also takes less than 10 minutes.
Similarly, biking to Shands Hospital, the College of Medicine, the College of Dentistry and the university’s surrounding health-related sites takes about the same time as driving a car there. Designated bike lanes are provided along Archer Road, making the 10-minue ride to Shands Medical Plaza relatively simple. If you’re a fan of public transportation or simply want to relax on your way to campus, Bus Route 38 picks up near the apartments and delivers you to Shands Medical Plaza in about 20 minutes.
Cycling to northern areas of campus is possible, but you may also want to consider using public transportation. Several bus routes link the apartments to north campus spots such as Reitz Union, Heavener Hall and Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Route 12 stops near the apartments and travels to Reitz Union, stopping at Shands Hospital and the Physics Building along the way. Similarly, you can walk seven minutes to the Route 38 bus stop to travel to Shands Hospital, the Greenhouse Agronomy Building, Graham Hall, Gator Corning Dining Center and The Hub, making the trip in 27 minutes.
You’ll enjoy easy access to many restaurants, stores and services along Archer Road. These include Panera Bread, Firehouse Subs, Starbucks, Goodwill, Trader Joe’s, Best Buy, Texas Roadhouse and Outback Steakhouse. Sam’s Club and the entrance to Interstate 75 are less than two miles away. Using I-75, you’ll have easy access to popular northern Gainesville sites such as The Oaks Mall, Santa Fe College and Town Center.
