For students at the University of Florida who are looking to be close to class and campus events but want the peace and quiet of their own apartment, Chelsea Lane Apartments is a great option. The spacious one-bedroom apartments have upgraded units that include washer/dryer units, patios and balconies, and high-quality cabinets, counters, and fixtures. Water is included in the rent, making it more affordable.
The location is the main draw to this community from University of Florida students and staff. Students can easily walk to class or ride a bicycle to where they need to go, and it’s also located on the bus route. For students going to the northeast side of campus, near Library West or Tigert Hall, riding a bike may be the easiest option. Students can cross SW 34th Street, which borders the west side of campus, and ride a bike east on Hull Road, then Museum Road. The ride is lovely, curving around Lake Alice and bordering around the Reitz Student Union, and it takes less than 15 minutes to get to Library West.
For students going to the south side of campus, near the College of Medicine, instead of riding along Museum, use Mowry Road to get to those locations within about 15 to 20 minutes by bicycle. There are plenty of parking areas on the south side of campus for drivers. There is also a Park and Ride option on Hull Road, less than a 15-minute walk. This is a campus transit stop that takes students across campus quickly and affordably.
Living here, students can walk to Butler Plaza, a great shopping area that includes Target, Publix, plenty of restaurants, and a large movie theater. It’s located at SW 34th Street and Archer Road, just about 15 minutes by foot, and even less by bike or car. Popular restaurants and bars along University Road are great for meeting friends and can be reached by car in less than 10 minutes. For even more convenience, there is a Winn-Dixie grocery store less than three blocks away!
Public transit is an excellent option for students living at Chelsea Lane Apartments. There is a bus stop across the street that accesses several routes. The #20 route goes from the Reitz Student Union to The Oaks Mall, and the #28 route goes from Forest Park to the campus HUB which connects to many other routes. The #125 route goes from the Reitz Union to Butler Plaza Transfer Station, again, letting riders transfer to another route easily. Students can access campus, shopping, and other locations easily and inexpensively using the transit system.
