Transportation
The apartments at University Commons are located on Archer Road, just across the street from the Natural Area Teaching Laboratory. This position is a short walk or bike ride from the southern half of the UF campus, which is home to the College of Veterinary Medicine, the UF Health Medical Plaza, the VA Medical Center and Shands Children’s Hospital. The UF colleges of dentistry and medicine are also located on Archer Road.
From this apartment complex, you can reach the Mark Bostick Golf Course in the northwestern corner of campus in less than an hour by foot. The bike ride will take you about 15 minutes. You can reach the center of campus and facilities further east in under an hour. If you prefer to use a personal vehicle, you can reach most of the campus parking areas in under 10 minutes, including the park and ride lots that make it easier to reach all areas of campus quickly.
This is also a convenient location to call home if you rely on public transportation. You’ll find a bus stop right in front of the apartment complex, and there are additional stops along Archer Road. The stop in front of the complex is connected to six bus routes, and Archer Road stops are each connected to at least three routes. You can reach a variety of recreational areas, restaurants and shopping centers without making multiple connections.
If you take a route 9 bus from the stop in front of the apartment complex, you can reach Turlington Hall in the northeastern corner of campus in about 10 minutes. This places you close to many of the dining and entertainment venues on campus, including University Auditorium, Plaza of the Americas and Reitz Union. There are also a couple libraries in this region of campus.

If you walk or ride a bike along Archer Road, you’ll come to a long list of restaurants and retail stores. This includes chain restaurants like Olive Garden and Panda Express as well as smaller dining options like Zoes Kitchen, Indian Cuisine and Bonefish Grill. Regal Cinema is also within walking distance of the apartment complex. For outdoor recreation, you can ride a bike or drive to many of the city’s largest parks in under 30 minutes. This includes Bivens Arm Nature Park, Sweetwater Wetlands Park and Boulware Springs Park.
