About Bridgelight

Transportation

You’ll find the Bridgelight Townhomes approximately one mile south of the University of Florida’s Gainesville campus. You can drive to the southeastern region of campus in less than five minutes without traffic, and you can reach most of the on-campus parking lots in 15 minutes or less. From the apartment complex, go north on SW 23rd Terrace and turn on NE State Road 24. A right turn will take you along the eastern edge of campus, and a left turn will take you to SW 34th Street so that you can drive north and enter campus from the west.

You can walk to the southern region of campus near Lake Alice South and the VA Medical Center in about a half hour, and it takes less than 10 minutes to reach this area on bike. You will need a bit more time to walk or bike further north to reach your desired campus facilities. There are many dining, shopping, entertainment and recreation options in this area of campus, eliminating the need for private transportation.

If you want to venture away from campus without private transportation, the closest bus stops are on SW 23rd Street in front of the UF Beef Teaching Unit and the Towne Parc Apartments. Six bus routes connect with these stops, so you can reach most areas of Gainesville by catching a bus right down the street from the apartment complex. You may need to make connections with multiple bus routes to reach some Gainesville attractions.

Expect the bus ride to campus to take about a half hour. Bus lines 9 and 35 will take you to Reitz Union in the northeastern region of campus. This area is close to the food court, the university welcome center, the theater buildings and the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. You may also want to take the bus to this stop in order to enjoy some time outdoors, since the Center for Wetlands, Reitz Ravine Woods and the Physics Lawn are all minutes from the bus stop.
