Ashton Lane offers gorgeous, luxury apartments that are less than two blocks from the University of Florida Campus. The apartment complex is divided into two buildings: Ashton Lane Phase I and Ashton Lane Phase II. The two communities offer individual leases in multi-bedroom apartments, which takes the drama away from roommates. Both apartment complexes have gorgeous petrified wood floors, gourmet kitchens, and built-in shelves. High-speed internet and washer and dryers are included in the rent.
For students who want to be close to classes and the social life of campus, but still have the peace and quiet of off-campus living, the best feature to living at Ashton Lane is the convenient location. Simply walk or ride a bicycle two blocks west along SW 5th Avenue, and students will be on campus right by the Architecture and Fine Arts Library and the College of Education. Everything around the northeast side of campus, including the College of Business and Library West are within a ten to fifteen-minute walk from the apartments.
Students who have classes along the southern part of campus near the College of Medicine can still walk to this area in about 25 minutes, though many may prefer to drive or ride a bicycle. To access the southern part of campus, drive south along SW 13th Street and turn right onto SW Archer Road. Archer Road runs along the southern side of campus, and several streets turn onto campus, where there are plenty of parking areas. It takes about five to ten minutes to get to this area by car and 15 by bicycle.
For students who prefer to use the Gainesville Transit System, the #1 bus route runs right through campus, all the way to Butler Plaza, a popular shopping and dining area that features a large movie theater. The #1 stop is less than a block away, too, and it runs all day until 10 p.m. The #5 bus route has a stop about 3 blocks away and goes across the north side of campus and goes all the way to The Oaks Mall.
Residents at Ashton Lane can walk to the popular bars and restaurants along University Avenue, making it easy to make plans with friends. There is a Publix grocery store just across University Avenue, less than five minutes by car and 15 minutes by foot. All of the nearby popular shopping locations, such as Butler Plaza and The Oaks Mall are only 15 minutes by car, making shopping, dining, and seeing a movie easily accessible.
