Transportation
The close proximity of Sunrise Villas to the University of Florida campus make this a perfect apartment complex for students who prefer to walk to classes. It is a short five-minute walk north along SW 23rd Terrace and across NE State Road 24 to the southern boundaries of the campus. In 15-20 minutes, students can arrive on foot at the Reitz Student Union, Florida Museum of Natural History, or other main campus destinations.
The Regional Transit System of Gainesville also serves the complex with routes 9, 19, 35, 36, and 37. Route 19 offers service directly between SW 23rd Terrace and the Reitz Student Union every weekday between 8:10 a.m. and 10:18 a.m. with pickups every 30 minutes. The other routes provide convenient transfers to the complex at other times of the day and can require 10-44 minutes of travel time depending on the campus destination.
Those who prefer to use their own vehicles to drive to campus can reach most locations in 5-10 minutes depending on the time of day and traffic. Most students prefer to walk, bike, or take the bus in order to avoid the hassle of parking in a campus commuter lot. It is less than two miles to the heart of the campus.
