About The Polos

For students looking for off-campus living without a long commute, the Polos are a great option. You can enjoy plenty of amenities, including a 24-hour study center, pool, and fitness center, and have a quiet, spacious apartment to call home. Our location lets you stay close to where the campus action is without worrying about the noise and traffic around the University of Florida.

Our apartment community is on SW Williston Road, which connects to or is near several main thoroughfares in Gainesville. Reaching campus is simple and only takes about ten minutes by car or 25 minutes via bicycle, depending on your campus destination. If you have classes on the south side of campus where you will find the Shands Teaching Hospital, Veterinary Science Building, and the Engineering Building, there are several parking garages in that area that are accessible by taking SW 23rd Street to SW Archer Road.

To easily reach the northeast side of campus, where Tigert Hall, the Fine Arts Building, and the Music Building are located, go easy on SW Williston Road, then make a left to head north on SW 13th Street which borders the east side of the University of Florida Campus. There are several streets off of both SW Archer and SW 13th Street that go straight through campus, too.
If you want to use a Park and Ride location, where you can park your car or lock your bicycle, then get across campus using the campus bus system, there are several around campus.

The public transit system is another great option when you live at the Polos. The #9 bus route stops very close to the complex (less than a minute walk!), and the route goes straight through campus to the Reitz Union North Lawn. The route runs every 40 minutes and is a convenient and inexpensive option for students.

In addition to being close to campus, the Polos is also near necessities including drug stores and groceries, and entertainment options including restaurants, shopping, and outdoor activities. Butler Plaza is less than ten minutes by car via SW 34th Street and is home to Target, Publix Grocery, Trader Joe’s, and dozens of stores and restaurants. The Butler Plaza is also right on the #35 bus route which also stops at The Polos. The Kanapaha Botanical Gardens are nearby in addition to several parks with jogging and biking paths.
