Santa Fe College is a quick and easy 3.5-mile drive from The Gardens along side streets, or about 10 minutes on the I-75 North. With a short walk to W Newberry Road, the RTS Route #23 bus will take you there in a few minutes.
Just a couple blocks north, at the intersection of Tower Road and West Newberry Rd, is the Town Center Shopping Center, which has a TJ Maxx, Kmart, and a HomeGoods store. It also has a Bank of America and a Publix Super Market. On foot, by bike, or by car, running errands and shopping is a breeze from The Gardens.
Another nearby shopping center is The Oaks Mall, which is about a half a mile away, just to the east of the I-75 freeway. Take Tower Road north, then turn east onto West Newberry Rd.
The Gainesville area is loaded with many different venues for entertainment, sports, dining and outdoor activities. The West End Golf Club is four miles to the west on Newberry Road. Naturalists will enjoy the hiking and biking trails at the Split Rock Conservation Area, which is only 2.5-miles to the south.
Some nearby restaurants include Pizza Hut, Applebee’s and Taco Bell, all located near Newberry and 75th. Just east of the I-75, you’ll find more restaurants including Red Lobster, Ocean Buffet, BJ’s, Red Robin’s and Chick-Fil-A.
