For students and staff at the University of Florida who want to enjoy nature and have a peaceful place to call home, In the Pines Apartments is a great option. Featuring one, two, and three bedroom apartments that include ample storage, patios and balconies, and recent renovations, In the Pines is great for individuals looking for their own space or roommates wanting to share a two or three bedroom apartment. Community features include a lovely swimming pool, fitness center, and a large laundry facility.
One of the biggest draws to In the Pines is the great location. It’s only two miles from Shands Hospital and the south side of the University of Florida campus, and while it may be a bit far to walk, it’s easy to ride a bike or drive. In the Pines is also right on the #16 bus line which goes through campus from Archer Road along Newell Drive to Beaty Towers, then south along SW 13th Street.
To reach campus by car or bike, go left to head west on SW 16th Avenue, and at SW 13th Street, go right to head north. SW 13th Street runs along the eastern side of campus, so no matter which part of campus is the destination, there’s a side street that makes it accessible. For the College of Nursing and College of Pharmacy, students can turn onto Museum Road. For students going to the northern side of campus, near Library West, Tigert Hall, and Walker Hall, turning left onto Stadium Road is a convenient cut-through to get to class.
In the Pines Apartments is also not far from many popular Gainesville locations. Many local restaurants, bars, and pubs are located on or near University Avenue, which is easily accessible from SE 16th Avenue, then SW 6th Street. For students that want to spend time outdoors, whether jogging or hitting the books outside, there are several parks very close, including the enormous Sweetwater Wetlands Park.
There is a Winn-Dixie Grocery Store and a CVS Pharmacy less than a mile away from the complex for convenient necessities. Butler Plaza is also a popular shopping destination that is home to a movie theater, several restaurants, and Target, Old Navy, Best Buy, and Trader Joe’s. It’s located at SW Archer Road and SW 34th Street, so it’s only about 10 to 15 minutes by car and accessible via 16th Avenue, followed by SW Archer Road.
