About Colony 33

Colony 33 is a lovely apartment community consisting of two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments that are perfectly designed for roommates to share. The community is pet-friendly with landlord approval. Heating and air conditioning, water, and garbage pickup are all included in the rent, making these apartments both affordable and convenient for students at the University of Florida.

The best quality of Colony 33 is the amazing location. Situated on SW 7th Avenue, residents are only two blocks from the eastern side of campus. Walk to the College of Education, College of Business, Tigert Hall, or Library West in less than fifteen minutes from your front door, or ride a bike and be there even faster!

If your classes are on the north side, near Library West, walk or bike from your front door, north to SW 5th Avenue, then ride or walk a few blocks west to cross SW 13th Street, which borders campus along the east. If your destination is on the south side of campus, near the College of Dentistry or Pharmacy, go south from your front door to SW 8th Avenue, where you’ll go west to cross further south on SW 13th Street at Museum Road or even on SW Archer Road which borders campus along the south.

Residents at Colony 33 will also find recreation and necessities to be easy to get to. There are plenty of popular restaurants and bars along University Avenue which is just a half a mile north along SW 10th Street. There is a Publix just north of University Avenue where you can grab groceries on your way home from class.

If you want to go see a movie, hit Target, or grab a new outfit at Old Navy, Butler Plaza is a great, convenient shopping destination. It’s located along SW Archer Road, just past SW 34th Street. It’s too far to comfortably walk, but bicycling or driving only takes around 15 minutes.

For residents who want to take advantage of the transit system, there are two campus bus stops on Sorority Row. There is a bus stop only a few blocks away on SW 12th Street for the popular Route #1 on the Gainesville city transit system which goes from Butler Plaza to the main Rosa Parks Bus Station where you can connect to nearly any route in Gainesville.
