Getting to class is quick and easy for residents of Campus Walk. If you have classes on the northern part of campus, near Tigert Hall, Little Hall, or the College of Business, walk west on SW 8th Avenue and cross SW 13th Street. SW 13th Street borders the campus along the east, so you can walk all the way to University Avenue and easily reach the building you need to get to. It takes about 15 minutes to reach this part of campus by foot, less than 10 minutes by bicycle. Students can use the same directions for driving, instead, crossing SW 13th Street onto Museum Road and locating one of the parking areas nearby.
The south part of campus is where many of the science buildings are located, such as the College of Medicine and College of Dentistry. To reach this area of campus, cross SW 13th Street from SW 8th Avenue. Walk or bike Museum Road and turn south on either Newell Road or Center Drive to access classes through that area in about 15 minutes by foot or less than 10 by bicycle. Students can also drive to this area, and there are many parking areas on the south side of campus.
Residents of Campus Walk are not only close to campus, but to plenty of amenities, attractions, and things to do. There are restaurants, pubs, and bars along University Avenue, only a five-minute drive or 20-minute walk via SW 6th Street. A Publix and a Winn-Dixie are both less than a mile away. For entertainment, the Butler Plaza has several stores, restaurants, and a large movie theater.
Students who want to utilize public transit to get around will find Campus Walk is very convenient. The stop for the #126 campus route is less than a block away, and it goes all through campus to SW 34th Street. There is also a stop for the #1 city bus route at Norman Parking Garage, less than two blocks away. This route goes all around campus and goes to Butler Plaza, where there is a transfer station.
