About Verdant Cove

Transportation

Positioned about five miles from the northeastern corner of the UF campus and nearly six miles from the southeastern corner of campus, the Verdant Cove Apartments are ideal for families and students with private transportation. It takes about two hours to walk to the eastern edge of campus from this location, and the bike ride can take more than a half hour. Additional time is needed to walk or bike to campus facilities located further west.

To reach campus by car, drive north on SE 43rd Street until you reach University Avenue. Turn left onto University and drive straight until you reach the eastern edge of campus. This road will continue along the northern edge of campus if you continue straight, or you can turn south on NW 13th Street near Matherly Hall. This road will take you to facilities on the eastern edge of campus.

13th Street will take you to the parking area near Criser Hall in about 15 minutes. You can reach the commuter lot near the center of campus in under 20 minutes without traffic. You will need additional time to walk or bike to other facilities throughout campus.

If you prefer to take public transportation, the closest RTS bus stop is right in front of the apartment complex on SE 43rd Street. This stop connects to routes 7 and 11, which will take you into areas of Gainesville west of the university. While these routes won’t take you directly to the UF campus, there are several ways to reach campus by making a bus transfer. You can expect the trip to take around 45-50 minutes.

Start by boarding a route 11 bus in front of the Verdant Cove apartment complex. Get off at the Rosa Parks Regional Transit Station, which will connect you to bus routes heading throughout Gainesville. The route 10 bus will take you along the eastern edge of campus, leaving you near the business schools if you ride to the last campus stop. A route 9 bus will take you across the northern region of campus. All of these routes may require additional time to walk or bike across campus to your final destination.
