You will need more time to reach your final campus destination, but you can walk to most facilities within 20 minutes. This includes the lakes, gardens and open green spaces dotting the campus.
While most residents would rather walk or bike to campus than pay for a bus, you will find three bus stops within a mile of the apartment complex. One is located to the north on NW 5th Avenue, and another is on NW 13th Street near the ABC Liquor Store. These stops connect with four different bus routes and will take you to various areas of Gainesville beyond the university. The bus stop on West University Avenue is just minutes away and will connect you to even more routes heading in all directions of the city.
For instance, you can reach The Oaks Mall and the restaurants surrounding the mall in about a half hour. Walk to the University Avenue bus stop and take the route 5 bus heading from Downtown Station to Oaks Mall. Get off at the AT&T store on NW 62nd Street. From this location, you can walk to all stores and restaurants in the area. You can also catch buses headed east and west from campus by going to this University Avenue stop.
