Transportation
Treehouse Village is located less than two miles from the southeastern corner of the University of Florida’s Gainesville campus. You can drive to this area of campus in about five minutes without traffic. This places you near many of the university medical facilities, including the College of Dentistry, the College of Medicine and the College of Pharmacy. Shands Children’s Hospital is located in this area as well.
For the fastest drive to campus, take SE 16th Avenue to SW 13th Street and then make a left onto SW Archer Road. This street travels along the southern edge of campus, so you can turn north on any road to reach your final campus destination. You can reach most of the campus parking areas within 10 minutes without traffic. This includes the park and ride lots if you prefer not to walk or bike your way around the university.
It takes about 40 minutes to reach the southern UF facilities on foot, but a bicycle will cut the commute down to about 15 minutes. Additional time is needed to reach facilities further north. If you prefer to take public transportation, there is a bus stop in front of the apartment complex. This stop connects with route 16, which will take you to Beaty Towers in about 10 minutes. This leaves you on Archer Road near the medical complexes on the southern edge of campus.
If you want to take the bus to other areas of campus or to surrounding regions of Gainesville, walk one mile north to the Rosa Parks Regional Transit center. Take the route 1 bus to reach the northeastern corner of campus or the route 9 bus to land near The Oaks Mall. There are many restaurants and retail stores surrounding the mall, so this is a good place to look for employment. It takes less than 15 minutes to get to this region of the city from Treehouse Village. The transit center can also connect you to many additional bus routes, leading you away from the university to various entertainment venues in Gainesville.
