For students looking for the peace and quiet that living off campus offers, Country Village is an excellent place to live. Nestled in a quiet area just south of campus, our community allows you to enjoy a short commute and still be close to your classes and campus activities. Enjoy a lovely pool, walking your pet along the pleasant green spaces, and having a clean, large apartment to live in. We offer spacious and affordable one bedroom options, and our two and three bedroom floorplans are large and perfectly laid out for roommates.
Country Village is located on SW Archer Road, just south of the University of Florida campus. Reitz Student Union, which is approximately in the center of the campus, is only a five minute commute by car, ten minutes by bicycle, or a pleasant 30 minute walk. If you choose to drive and have classes or activities on the south side of campus, around the Veterinary Science Building, Engineering Building, or the medical buildings, there are several parking garages located just off of SW Archer Road. Classes on the northeast side of campus, near the Fine Arts building or Smathers Library are easily accessed by driving east on SW Archer Road, then turning left to go north on SW 13th Street.
If you are riding a bicycle or walking to campus, it’s easiest to cut through campus. Walk or ride east on SW Archer and then turn onto Gale Lederman Drive or S Newell Drive. Both of those roads connect through much of campus or to paths that lead through the north side of campus. The bus is also a convenient option as the community has a bus stop and is right on the #12 bus route which goes directly through campus.
In addition to campus, you will find shopping, entertainment, outdoor activities, and dining options to be just a short trip from Country Village. Drive five minutes southwest on SW Archer Road to reach Butler Plaza where there is a Target, Publix, Trader Joes, and dozens of other stores. There are also restaurants galore, and a Regal Movie Theater is in Butler Plaza, too. Butler Plaza is also located on the #12 bus route, too, so if you rely on public transit, you won’t miss out on shopping and dining. To enjoy the lovely Gainesville weather, Lake Alice and Kawapaha Botanical Gardens are nearby, along with several smaller parks where you can jog, ride a bike, or simply relax.
