Transportation
The Arbor apartment complex is located on SW 35th Place and is approximately two miles south of the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine. You can drive to this southern region of campus in about five minutes if you take 35th Place to SW 23rd Terrace and drive north to NE State Road 24. Turn right on this road to reach the Veterinary Medicine building on the right or to branch off into campus from the southern edge.
If you turn left on Gale Lemerand Drive from State Road 24, you’ll enter campus near the Lake Alice Conservation Area, Wilmont Gardens, the College of Dentistry and Hume Hall. You can take this road straight to the northern end of campus or turn off on crossroads to reach your final destination. It should take no more than 15 minutes to reach a parking lot in any area of campus when driving from the apartment complex.
It can take close to an hour to walk to the southern edge of campus, and you will need more than an hour to walk to facilities further north. Riding a bike can take some time off your commute, or you can take the local bus. The fastest route is to catch bus number 35 headed to Reitz Union right in front of the apartment complex. Get off at the Reitz Union stop, which will leave you in front of Rawlings Hall toward the eastern end of campus.
You can also take the route 9 bus from the same stop in front of the apartment complex. This route is about five minutes longer and will leave you at Turlington Hall on the northern edge of campus. This is a good option if you want to get off at a stop in the middle of campus or further north.
There are five bus routes that connect with the stop in front of the Arbor Apartments. These buses will take you to most destinations throughout Gainesville, and you have the option of connecting to additional routes from campus. This well-connected location is perfect for students, teachers and staff members of the university as well as professionals commuting to other areas of the city.
