Transportation
The 13th Street Apartments are located less than a mile northeast of the University of Florida campus, and you can drive to the center of campus in under five minutes even with a bit of traffic. The apartment complex sits on the corner of NW 13th Street and NW 7th Avenue, and the fastest route to campus is to drive south on 13th until you cross over University Avenue. The northeastern corner of campus is less than a 30-minute walk from the apartment complex and is home to several university libraries, the Broward Outdoor Recreational Complex and the Plaza of the Americas. You will have to walk a bit longer to reach facilities located further north or west, but many students do walk or ride bikes to campus from this area of Gainesville.
If you prefer to use public transportation, you can catch a route 8 bus right across 13th Street from the apartment complex. The southbound bus will take you to multiple stops on the eastern edge of campus as well as to Gainesville restaurants, bars, shopping centers and entertainment venues located south of campus. Catching the southbound bus will take you north of campus. If you connect with other bus routes along the way, you can reach any destination in Gainesville.
