Transportation
Huntington Lakes is in a prime location removed from the bustling activity of University of Florida but within a 15-minute drive of its expansive campus. The apartments are about five miles northwest of UF, closest to sites like the Levin College of Law and Ring Tennis Pavilion. They’re also just down the street from medical services at UF Health Springhill and I-75.
For commuters heading to UF, the drive takes about 15 minutes even during most rush hours. Add a few minutes to your drive time if your destination is on the southeast side of campus and sites like McKnight Brain Institute and Shands Cancer Center.
Taking public transit to UF sites is also convenient and relatively quick. The bus stop is located at the entrance to Huntington Lakes apartments so you won’t have to walk far to reach transit. Route 43 buses pick up passengers at this stop on weekdays, and the route offers the most direct travel to campus. It runs along the north side of UF, making stops near Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and Anderson Hall before heading south to stops near the College of Fine Arts and Yulee Pit. It then heads west for a stop at Beaty Towers and south for stops near the Florida Museum of Natural History, the Department of Biology and all of UF’s many medical services buildings. The entire trip takes only 35 minutes.
Route 39 buses also pick up passengers at Huntington Lakes and offer easy transport to Ironwood Golf Course and the airport. For alternate transport to UF sites, you might consider using Route 40 buses. Route 40 takes passengers to UF’s The Hub, but you’ll walk about a mile from the apartments to reach a Route 40 pick-up site.
Cycling to campus takes about 35 to 40 minutes and is fairly direct on a variety of routes.
