About Bentwood

Transportation

The Bentwood Apartments are located approximately four miles west of the University Florida. You can reach the northwestern corner of campus near the Mark Bostick Golf Course in approximately 15 minutes without traffic. Start by taking West University Avenue to Tower Road, and then turn right onto West Newberry Road. When you reach SW 34th Street, you can continue straight to head east through campus or turn right to reach facilities along the western edge of campus.

The western region of campus is home to Maguire Field and Village, the softball fields, the Southwest Recreation Center, the Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium, the Donald R. Dizney Stadium, the Florida Museum of Natural History and the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. All of these campus attractions plus more are within a 20-minute drive of the apartment complex in light traffic. You can expect a longer commute time or may need to take alternate routes at certain times of the day.

It can take up to 30 minutes to bike to the northwestern corner of campus from Bentwood, and the walk takes more than an hour. If you don’t have a car, you can expect to spend an hour or longer riding the bus each way. The closest stop is a couple minutes away in front of the Harbor Cove Apartments. Take the route 75 bus headed from Butler Plaza to Oaks Mall, and get off at the Oaks Mall stop. Wait for the route 5 bus headed toward Downtown Station to complete your trip to campus.

The route 5 bus will run along SW 2nd Avenue on the northern edge of campus, and there are multiple stops that allow you to get off and walk to your final destination. You will pass many restaurants, bars and retail stores on this route, so it’s a good option for transportation outside of school hours. It takes less than 20 minutes to get from the apartments to Oaks Mall and about another 20 minutes to travel to the northeastern corner of campus near Leonardo’s Pizza by the Slice.

Things Nearby

Oaks Mall, Home Depot, Red Robin, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ocean Buffet, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse and Hobby Lobby are all within two miles of the apartments. You can walk to all of these businesses plus many more within a half hour. You can drive there in 10 minutes or less or take the bus in about 20 minutes.
