About The Retreat

For students at the University of Florida, the Retreat offers a fantastic off-campus living experience. The luxurious townhomes are available with between two and six bedrooms, and each features private bathrooms, walk-in closets, optional furniture packages, and gorgeous, high-quality features. The community itself has a gorgeous pool, a poolside fitness area, cardio and strength training, clubhouse, and amazing amounts of lovely green spaces for relaxing, walking, or jogging. The Retreat is also pet-friendly.

In addition to being a modern, lovely place to call home, the Retreat is just a ten minute drive, 15 minute bike ride, or 30 minute walk to the center of the University of Florida Campus. If you are driving to campus and have classes on the northeast side of campus, near Tigert Hall or Smathers Library, you can access that area by driving north on SW 13th Street. If you have science classes on the south side of campus or are a medical student, you can reach that area by taking SW 13th Street to SW Archer Road which circles the south side of campus. There are several parking garages in that area.

To access campus via bicycle, you may find taking SW 11th Street north and then making a left onto SW 8th Avenue, which becomes Museum Road once you are on campus, to be an easier route to take. It’s only fifteen minutes, and it’s a mainly flat route. Pedestrians can also use that route, though you may find it more convenient to take SW 13th, and cut through campus using S Newell Avenue. This is especially handy when you are going to the south side of campus. Two bus stops are located within five minutes of the Retreat which also go to campus using the #13 route, if you prefer to take public transit.

While the proximity to campus is great, the Retreat also is close to shopping, dining, entertainment, and outdoor activities. If you take SW 16th Avenue to SW Archer Road, you will be at the Butler Plaza in about ten minutes, where you can do your grocery shopping at Publix or Trader Joes, furnish your new apartment at Target, and enjoy shopping at countless stores on the plaza, including Michael’s, Best Buy, and Old Navy. Several casual and fast food restaurants are in the Butler Plaza area, along with a Regal Movie Theater.

The neighborhood is amazing. It truest is the definition of luxury. I was drawn to the retreat because of the design of the houses it feels like I live in a mountain town in the rockies.

The neighbors. It feels like a real neighborhood when I’m away from my own.

Sometimes people get really loud on the weekend nights.
