Transportation
The Aspen Ridge Apartments are located directly on SW 34th Street and are within a two-minute drive of the University of Florida campus. If you have private transportation, you can drive north on SW 34th Street until you reach the southwestern corner of campus near the Natural Area Teaching Laboratory and the Doyle Conner Building. Continue north and turn right onto Hull Road to find the parking garage for the western side of campus, or keep going straight to reach the University golf courses north of campus.
If you rely on public transportation, there are several RTS public bus routes that will take you into the heart of campus in under 30 minutes. The closest bus stop is right in front of the apartment complex. Take the route 12 bus headed to Reitz Union from that stop, exiting at Rawlings Hall. This ride can take up to 25 minutes without delays, but you can shorten the ride by about five minutes if you walk about 10 minutes to the bus stop at Ridge Commons. From that stop, take the route 35 bus to Rawlings Hall.
You can walk to the university, but expect it to take you about an hour to reach the center of the main campus. It’s about three miles from the apartment complex to the area near Hume Hall and Lake Alice Fields. You can reach facilities on the southern edge of campus in less than an hour on foot.
You can also use the public busing system to reach shopping centers, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues throughout Gainesville. These apartments are close to several bus routes that will take you in all directions.
