About Arbor Park

Transportation

The Arbor Park Apartments are positioned less than a mile from the southeastern corner of the University of Florida campus. From this location, you can drive to the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center or the College of Veterinary Medicine in less than five minutes. Simply drive down SW 16th Avenue until you reach either of these locations. It takes about a half hour to walk the same route, and the bike ride is about 10 minutes.

If you want to reach the southeastern corner of campus near Reitz Union, take SW 6th Street to SW 13th Street and make a left on Museum Road. This will take you into campus from the east, placing you near the science library, Beaty Towers and the Broward Outdoor Recreational Complex. Continue following Museum straight through campus until you turn off on a crossroad to reach any of the campus parking lots. It takes about 10 minutes to reach the eastern edge of campus from the apartment complex, and you may need another five minutes to reach a parking area. You can then walk or bike your way around campus.

If you don’t have a car and don’t want to walk or bike to UF, there is a bus stop located in front of the apartment complex. This bus stop connects with route 16 and 17 buses, and either of these lines will take you to campus in under 30 minutes. Either route will leave you near Beaty Towers and Reitz Union on the eastern edge of campus, so you will have to walk to facilities located further west.

This is a well-connected area of Gainesville that will allow you to commute to most areas of the city without private transportation. If you want to venture into areas not covered by the route 16 and 17 bus lines, you can transfer to other bus lines from campus or walk one mile to the Rosa Parks Regional Transit System to catch buses headed in all directions.
