Transportation
2nd Avenue Centre is located at the corner of SW 2nd Avenue and SW 5th Street. You can walk to the center of the University of Florida campus in about a half hour from this location, and a bike ride will get you there in about 10 minutes. Simply walk or bike down 2nd Avenue and turn onto Museum Road. This road will lead you straight into campus, allowing you to turn off at any point to reach your desired destination.
This area of Gainesville is popular with students because it’s so easy to walk to all areas of campus as well as to surrounding businesses. If you prefer to use public transportation, you’ll find a bus stop close by. You can walk to the stop in just minutes and board one of the Later Gator buses to reach campus as well as attractions throughout Gainesville. Later Gator A makes a big loop around campus while Later Gator B goes across the northern edge of the university and then runs into the city south of campus. Later Gator C goes along the northern edge of the university and then extends into Gainesville to the west.
Most students walk or ride bikes from this apartment complex to campus, and you can reach all areas of the city with the Later Gator buses and connecting routes. You can easily get around without personal transportation, but you may want to use a car if you plan on commuting to work or visiting destinations far from campus on a routine basis.
