About Cottages at Norman Apartments

The gorgeous two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments at the Cottages at Norman are perfect for roommates who need their own space to spread out. With plenty of storage space, fully equipped, gourmet kitchen, and high-end fixtures, these apartments are luxurious and lovely. The washer/dryer in each unit, high-speed internet, and security systems add convenience and safety.

For students wanting close proximity to the excitement of campus while having a quiet retreat to study and unwind, the Cottages at Norman are an excellent option. Just steps from the College of Education, students can walk to campus in less than five minutes and be at some of the most popular spots, such as the Reitz Student Union and Library West in ten to fifteen minutes. Riding a bike is also a great option to get to class. Either way, just step out your door, walk west across Norman Lawn or bike along SW 5th Avenue and cross SW 13th Street. From there you can reach nearly any part of campus.

The southern part of campus is where the College of Medicine, College of Dentistry and the College of Pharmacy are located, and while it’s a bit further, it’s still an easy walk or bike ride. Once you cross onto campus at Inner Road/SW 5th Avenue, you can go south along Newell Drive.

The Cottages at Norman have easy access to several bus routes, too. Whether you want a campus or a city route, you are less than a block away from a stop. The #126 campus route has a stop on SW 6th Avenue and goes around Sorority Row, through campus, to SW 34th Street that borders the west side. The #1 city bus route has a stop a block away on SW 5th Avenue and goes from Butler Plaza to Rosa Parks Transfer Station.

Whether you want to grab a bite to eat or get drinks with friends, the bars, restaurants, and coffee shops along University Avenue are all within 10 to 20 minutes by foot and just a few minutes by car. There is a Publix Grocery there, too. If you want to go see a movie or shop at Butler Plaza, you may want to drive or take the #1 bus, because it is a little far to go by foot. If you want to ride a bike, enjoy the convenience of the Waldo Road Greenway-Depot Avenue Rail Trail.
